I have read all about wool. I asked questions about lanolizing at the local yarn store. I talked to the knitting guru Andrea and she assured me it was easy. (Sure she thinks it's easy, she's the one people call for local 911 knitting emergencies!) So I felted and cut the sleeved to prep an upcycled sweater to make into longies. I downloaded a tutorial on how to make them. I can do this! Yet there they are still just sleeves setting in a box mocking me, I'm sure of it!
A few months ago, a blog I follow, Dirty Diaper Laundry, had an "All About Wool Week" feature. I watched Kim Rosas' video on "How to Lanolize Your Wool" and all of her wool product reviews. It was great to see how it works and that it really isn't that hard to do. Still, I am not convinced I can handle it. I don't buy things for myself that say "hand wash" for a reason, too much work, right?
Another of blog I follow, Nifty Nappy, has been promoting her products like crazy among the mommy blogs and on Twitter. Vialte is also the author of the guest post for the Fluff Talk Thursday meme at Happily Domestic. I have read all the reviews and I love her work- HUGE fan (even though I admire from afar)! I might be convinced to try it because she makes it sound so easy. Everywhere I turn, someone is raving about how easy she makes it. Besides, who could be afraid of a cute, little lamb? I guess the answer to that would be ME!!

I admit I've only used my shorties a couple times! I just got a wool cover from Nifty Nappy for my cloth diaper event. I'm waiting for a fitted diaper to get here so I can try it out.
ReplyDeleteAhh, just give in and get some. Or make them. You will love them! Really and if you have any probs just give me a holler.
ReplyDeleteYou will love that the care for is like 5 min of you time...really!
Even the big lambs aren't scary! :)
I bought a ton of sweaters from Salvation army and made longies. I love them! They are cheapy ugly sweaters so I don't feel bad if they get pooped on or if I didn't sew them perfectly. They are my favorite night time solution! I also like fleece - super cheap and cute prints!
ReplyDeleteLoved this post - great links.
And your new layout is ADORABLE! Love it!
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Isn't this weather crazy? We are supposed to get 5 inches of snow tonight...wow!
I hope you win the Sustainablebabyish, you will love her wool cover! If you have any questions about wool don't hesitate to ask...I know I was intimidated at first, but I love it now!
