January 18: I cheated on this one. My mom actually took the picture, but I love it!!
Tate and I were putting groceries away when we heard the dogs howling at the sirens. I heard them getting close, so I took Tate to the door to let him watch them drive by, only they stopped! I opened the door and one of the firemen said, "This is the address." Another one said, "No, it's next door." I still panicked because I had no idea where Michael was. When the ambulance pulled up, he finally came out of the neighbor's house to direct them to the right place. Michael had to give them our address because the neighbor's address was too confusing. He lives in a studio apartment behind his landlord's house, which is actually faces a different street.
The poor man had been laying on the floor trying to get someone's attention all day! He couldn't get to his phone because he had hurt his back and couldn't walk. Luckily, Michael was taking the trash to the curb and the neighbor was able to push the door open and shout, "Hey, Mr. Policeman!" It was also the man's good luck that my husband is a certified EMT. I feel bad because I don't know the neighbor's name and he's lived there for several months, but I hope he is doing okay.
