Day 132: May 12- He was trying really hard to stay awake while I was rocking him, but his eyes kept snapping shut. That is until I put him in his bed...
Day 133: May 13- We made pizzas for dinner. Mama Mary's pre-made crusts don't have any dairy in them. They also come in a 7" size with 3 crusts- perfect for our family! I let Tate spread the sauce on. When I took the spoon back to give him more sauce, he started using his fingers to spread it! Then since he had it on his fingers, he might as well lick it off, right? He just kept dipping his fingers in sauce and licking them.
The nice thing about this size crust is he can have his own with his own
In the background, you can see the spoon I set on the third crust. Michael was working, so I was going to make his pizza a little later. After I put the other two pizzas in the oven, I moved it onto the pan. I let Tate lick the spoon, while I cleaned up. When I turned back around, he was back up on his stool and was either about to lick the little bit of sauce off Michael's crust or he just had! I'm so sad because I was actually able to get his picture, but I accidentally deleted it! This boy loves all things tomato!!
Day 134: May 14- Bike to work day
This is the third time this year my brother, sister-in-law and I have biked to work. Mapquest says it's 2.66 miles from my house, but it's actually a little longer. Austin and Amy live on my regular route to work, but it's a fairly busy street and we prefer to take the side streets. The street I usually ride down to get to their house is torn up for road construction (they are getting rid of the historic brick streets- boo!), so I have to go about 5 blocks out of the way to avoid heavy traffic to get to there. It may not seem like a lot, but when you are pulling a full trailer, it seems like a lot more! The first time was Earth Day. It was misty and we could hear the occasional rumble of thunder. Just as Austin and I got to work, the street lights came back on because it got so dark and a severe thunderstorm warning was issued! Thankfully, Tate wasn't with us or I wouldn't have chanced it.
Last Friday, it was extremely windy. Usually I don't have Tate with me, but Michael had to drop him off on his way to work because I wouldn't make it home in time. The ride home was the worst! There is a slight incline on our way home. Add that to heading straight into 20ish mph winds and pulling a heavy trailer and that equals one very tired pregnant mommy!
Today, since it was bike to work day, the Reno County Growth Coalition (I had to Google them to find out what they did.) offered breakfast at 2 different locations in town for those that participated. We saw it in the paper and since one of the locations was on our route, we decided to check it out.
This morning the weather was a little chilly, but the nicest one so far. The photos are borrowed from a friend. We saw quite a few other cyclists on our way. One mom biked her daughter to preschool. She even wore her daughters backpack. One man biked to Hutchinson from Mount Hope, which is about 25 miles. Now that's dedication! My mom picks Tate up every morning about 10. Sometimes we have to have her bring things for us, such as her hand held vacuum. Tate decided to throw crumbs from his muffin all over the floor. He wanted to clean them up. I guess I should start making him every time and maybe he wouldn't be so eager to throw things on the floor. Ha ha!
