Project 365: Day 172-180

Day 172: June 21- I guess I forgot to take any pictures, so here are 2 bonus pictures from June 20.
We went swimming in the backyard when Michael woke up. Tate had to wear his Woody (really Buzz) sunglasses.
Tate tried corn on the cob for the first time and loved it! At first, I cut his off and he ate it until he saw the rest of us eating it straight off the cob. Then he wanted a try and ate half of mine!

Day 173: June 22- We were making dinner and of course, Tate loves to help. He's trying to figure out the can opener.
Day 174: June 23- This is one of Tate's bedtime rituals. He pulls a bunch of books off the shelf and looks through them until he finds several he wants to read. We keep a stack of current favorites by the chair in case he changes his mind.
He is very opinionated about his reading material. Don't read something he says "no" to or he gets very upset! We have a book shelf for him in the living room and in his room. We rotate them on a regular basis. For example, when mommy and daddy just can't read a certain book one more time without going crazy, it gets moved to the living room for a while. :o)
Day 175: June 24- I'm not sure why my dad brought home some neon orange spray paint, but the grandkids had a great time shaking it up. Then he painted the first letter of each of their names in the sand and they thought that was the coolest!
Day 176: June 25- My belly looks huge here for only 15 1/2 weeks! Surely, it's just the camera angle... :o/ Anyway, Tate learned how to give a "zerbert," or blowing raspberries on a person's skin. We learned the term from Bill Cosby on an episode of The Cosby Show.
Day 177: June 26- My mom's cousin got married. The dance didn't start until 7, but Tate started bustin' a move early! He was the only one dancing and having a great time.
Day 178: June 27- We met Michael's parents, his brother, our nephews and a few friends at Wilson Lake for the day. The wind kept things cool out on the water, but did not make swim-friendly waters. Tate was not a fan of the waves. He tried wading out and the waves knocked him over face first into the water. Good thing he is comfortable with water getting in his face!
Michael took Tate out on the tube. He enjoyed it for about 2 minutes and then he was done.
He really did not like Michael out on the tube with the boat going fast and especially not when Uncle Mark knocked Daddy off into the water! He kept telling me to "put-it" and pointing inside the boat.
Day 179: June 28- Tate and I went out to water the garden after missing Sunday and we found a zucchini that I would swear had quadrupled in size! I would have let the smallest squash grow one more day before picking it, but Tate had other ideas. I was picking green beans and he ran over to show me. He was very proud of himself.
I boiled some of the squash for dinner and Tate liked it... well, as long as there weren't any visible seeds. He did not like those! His favorites were the peas, which he ate raw.
Day 180: June 29- Practicing drinking from a big boy cup. After he finished his dinner, I let him dunk an Oreo. Then he decided to dunk some pasta that was left on his tray too.
Whew- I'm finally all caught up!! We have been so busy, I never thought it would happen!
