Three Month Update

Sorry it's a week late. All I can say is it's March Madness! Mayer and I were watching basketball on my computer instead of blogging. I cannot believe my Mayer-man is already three months old! His doctor didn't have him come in at two months, so we have to wait before we know how much he has grown. I'm disappointed I didn't insist on a well baby check-up last month, especially since we have all of Tate's first year monthly stats. We aren't going to have three month statistics either. Tate shared his cough with Mayer, so we had to cancel our well baby appointment. I took him in this morning and since he was wheezing, they made us get a chest X-ray. Turns out everything is fine, the doctor was just erring on the side of caution.
Mayer's getting a little belly and has some chunky thighs, so I was anxious to see how much he weighed. He was a little over 13 lbs this morning, fully clothed. He usually just gets up once a night to eat. He comes to work with me everyday, so he pretty much gets fed on demand. I try to keep him on a schedule, but it never seems to work. Breastfeeding is very much a love- hate relationship for me, but that's another story.

Mayer loves blowing raspberries and spit bubbles. He tries like heck to suck a thumb or fingers. Sometimes he's successful, but usually ends up sucking his fist. Thankfully he will take a pacifier as a substitute. He also tries talking, to grab objects, scoot on his belly and to sit up from laying down.
He and Tate adore each other! Like I said, Tate even shared his cough with his little brother. He loves to kiss on Mayer and it's so hard to stop him. At bedtime, they usually have to lay next to each other (at Tate's insistence) to get their jammies and diapers on. Yesterday, Mayer was fussing and I left them alone together to go get a paci. When I came back, Tate was leaned over Mayer, just like I do when he's on the floor and was "sshhh-ing" in his ear. It was so sweet!

The monkey is a little creepy. If it had wings, it would look like he was a flying monkey from the Wizard of Oz!
