Interview with Tate

As a police officer, Michael meets a lot of people. Recently, he met a two year old boy who couldn't tell Michael any information about himself. I wanted to see what Tate could tell me. I didn't get to ask him all of the questions I wanted to, but he did pretty well. I wanted to ask his age because at any given time, his age ranges between 5-7 years, but he is never younger than 5.
Yes, when I asked him where we live he says, "Hutchins-zoo." Last week when he went to the zoo with Mimi, they talked about it being the Hutchinson Zoo. When I asked him about his day he told me about their trip to the zoo. I told him Hutchinson was the name of the town we live in. So now he associates the name of the town with the zoo.
Sometimes we get a similar response when we ask him his last name. He will say, "Tate Michael Collins." He knows that is daddy's name because it is the same as one of the astronauts that went to the moon. We have told him his last name is the same as daddy's. We know he knows Archer is part of his name, or maybe he's just heard us say, "Tate Archer" a few times when we are trying to get his attention. While we were visiting Grandma, he wanted her to stop doing the dishes and come play with him. He asked her several times before he got really mad and shouted, "GRANDMA ARCHER!!" I love the minds of 2 year old's... most of the time!
