So I didn't get a picture of Mayer on his actual 10 month birthday, but I did get one the day before and the day after. As you can see there is a big difference, lol. It has been a pretty uneventful month. The walking progress has stagnated. He will walk and run as long as he is holding on to something. The kid has awesome cruise control abilities! He will walk in circles while spinning my desk chair, yet will not walk more than 1-2 steps on his own.
He has perfected his waving. He waves to say, "hello" and he waves when he wants something, especially when he wants me to pick him up. Mayer even waved at people from the train at the Kansas State Fair!

Mayer had his 9 month well baby appointment at the end of September. We found out he is in the 12th percentile for his height and only the 5th for his weight. His pediatrician said he wasn't overly concerned because Mayer's measurements have been tracking consistently in those percentiles. I worry about him not eating solid foods if they are not pureed or if they have any kind of texture. Once he starts to swallow, he chokes and gags until he throws up. The doctor said keep introducing different textures to Mayer and if it isn't better by the time he turns a year, then we should revisit the speech-language pathologist for further evaluation.

We have been keeping an eye on a chronic cough. The doctor says it is more than likely asthma, especially since it wakes him up at night. We have started giving him breathing treatments twice a day, if possible. Michael has better luck giving them than I do. He wants to nurse when I try to give them to him. (I am bound and determined to make it to one year, but counting the days until we can start weaning!)

Mayer absolutely adores Tate. He chatters all the time and the most recognizable word is "ate" (Tate). I know that is what he is saying because when he sees Tate, he yells, "ATE!!" Tate calls him, "Little Manny" or "Mayer Manny." There are other words it sounds like he is saying, "woah" (hello) when he waves, "dada", but never "mama." I'm with him all the time, so apparently he doesn't feel the need to acknowledge me!
It is getting harder to keep him at work with me. He fights napping unless I am wearing him in the Ergo. He has become a great escape artist too. I opened the file cabinet, got a work order out and turned around. While I had my back to him, Mayer crawled under the file cabinet! He has learned he can crawl under the desk with a 9" clearance, by-pass the baby gate and escape to other places in the office.
Mayer has also learned to patty-cake or clap when you say, "yay!" I think he tries to play peak-a-boo when you give him a blanket or maybe he is just mimicking Tate by covering his head. I have noticed he is also getting quite a temper. He throws himself on the floor and screams when he doesn't get what he wants. He may be a Mama's boy, but he definitely has his Daddy's temperament!

He looks much bigger than that to me! Good for you to sticking to the 1 year goal. Who knows, you may want to go a little longer ;-) I don't know what you plan on doing for 'milk' when you wean but I gave Ethan goats milk for a few months. Goats milk is the closest thing to breast milk so it's a very good transition to cows milk (if you choose to do that later). Ethan has never been a big milk drinker but I didn't worry since he ate a good amount of dairy and takes good vitamins as well.
