Mayer: 11 month update

This month things definitely started coming together for Mayer. I haven't been able to get him to stand still long enough to get a picture of him today, but don't worry, this post isn't lacking in photos.
Watch out, he's even more mobile now that he's decided to let go! He tries to chase Tate and they both think it is hysterical.
He's even toilet trained!! OK, not really, he is sitting on a toilet from a space shuttle.
Mayer has also finally decided that food with texture is good. YE-HAW!!!! He is still a very picky eater, but I am persistent. I try to give him a different table food every night, but I think he would rather eat an entire container of puffs, if we'd let him. I just replaced his puffs with a new taste and texture. So far he is not a fan of Cheerios. He loves Mum-Mums, but does not like Little Munchers (cheese puffs). He doesn't like yogurt melts, but the little stinker will eat crayons!?!
On Halloween, my brother gave him a bag of Skittles. He thought it would be fine since the wrapper was plastic and not paper, but turns out he was wrong. In the 7 blocks it took us to get home, Mayer had punctured the wrapper with his teeth and started sucking on the candies through the holes he had made.
Eating a homemade 60-second (or less in our microwave) teething biscuit and screaming with Tate. They both think it is great fun to scream at each other or bang on the table. I'm sure our neighbors wonder what in the world goes on!

We were letting him walk around the Cosmosphere and next thing we knew he was on the floor like this! I wish I would have let my camera focus, but I was afraid he would move quick and I'd miss it altogether. By the time the camera had focused, Mayer had moved on.
Perfecting the art of dropping things or throwing them. He will even take food out of his mouth and drop it beside the highchair. Last night he got mad at me when I tried to give him a cup instead of letting him nurse for the second time in the middle of the night. He threw the cup as far as he could across the room. He definitely has a temper!
We got pictures back from Mayer's 9 month photo shoot:

I can't believe he will be one year in a month!

  1. I can't believe he's almost 1 year either! They grow up too fast :-( I'm impressed you are starting potty training so early with him ;-)
