Tate adding the finishing touches to his sign.
Mayer didn't want to let go of his muffin to hold his sign. Thankfully, Uncle Swan held it for him. (FYI: p. Sack is Michael's sergeant.)

The race started at 8. It was pretty chilly for us, but perfect running weather! We were on a bridge over the course at about the 2 1/2 mile mark.
Daddy and Paul (aka P, Sack) waving
This is at about the 5 mi point.
My sister is in the blue. Lucky for their cheering squads (there were 2 groups of us), they ran pretty close to the same pace for most of the race.
Still feeling good.
I didn't realize when I took this picture of my sister that I actually knew 4 other people. The pace runner is even one of my former swimmers. This is about the 8 1/2 mi point.
I think this is around mile 11. We found out here that the police officers (their co-workers) blocking traffic were keeping tabs on Michael and P. Sack. They were reporting their progress over the radio, possibly to cheer them on, but more likely to laugh at them. :)
Michael finished 5 minutes under his goal! His official time was 1:55.30. He placed 110th. The longest distance he ran to train for the race was 8 miles. He said he felt good until about the last mile and a half.
My sister was struggling due to lack of sleep and a foot injury, but she still bettered her time from last year! Her official time was 2:04.02 and she placed 116th overall.
I am so proud of them both!! Even though I have started running, I much prefer to be the cheerleader! I still don't think I will be ready to try it next year. Stranger things have happened, including me running regularly! Way to go, Michael and Taylor!
