Using More Fabric Scraps

Tate's favorite animal is a giraffe. It is not easy to find things with a giraffe, especially for a boy! We looked at Christmas for giraffe related gifts, but couldn't really find anything other than a few figurines. As I was going through my fabric scraps, I found remnants of a goldenrod colored t-shirt and knew it would be perfect for a giraffe!
I tried finding a picture or silhouette of a giraffe to use. I didn't find anything I liked, so I drew two for Tate to choose from.

He chose the giraffe on the left. I enlarged it an appliqued it on a polo shirt for him.

I wasn't happy with the way the eyes turned out. I ended up hand stitching the pupils darker. I still wasn't all that happy with them, but Tate loves it and that's what matters.
