Men's Shirt to Dress

The National Sewing Month posts continue!
This refashion has been haunting me all summer, well since mid-June anyway! It's been setting on my drafting table torturing me. I could not get it to fit the way I wanted. I'd work on it periodically and give up in frustration. I remembered to take a before shot:

I was so excited to refashion this shirt that I even drew a basic sketch of what I wanted.

The neckline went together easy and I thought the dress did too, until I tried it on. The front looked great, but the back was bunched up so much I looked like the Hunchback of Notre Dame! I kept readjusting it and it seemed like no matter what I did I still couldn't get it to lay flat.
Finally, just in time for the end of summer, I figured it out!
