Beatlemania

It was the mid-80's when my dad made me my first Beatles mix tape from his records. I would ride my bike around the neighborhood with my boombox playing and of course I was singing along. At the time, I think "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and  "Penny Lane" were my favorite songs and John was my favorite Beatle.
Almost 30 years later, I still have that mix tape and my dad's records- yes, I have a record player too- and I have expanded it into a much larger library. Some of my first CD purchases were Beatles' albums. I was a senior in high school when the Anthology came out and John Lennon was the topic of my senior theme. Michael and I walked down the aisle to "All You Need Is Love" after our wedding ceremony.
All the media coverage reliving the 50th anniversary of the Beatles arriving in the US has inspired me to refashion one of my Beatles shirts. I found it at the Goodwill and couldn't resist getting it. I've only worn it a few times, which means it eventually ends up in the refashion stash. I also pinned this wrap skirt as inspiration:

I wasn't sure how to get measurements for a wrap skirt, so I did some research and found a complicated formula. I hate math and just decided to wing it. I came up with a one-size fits all version rather than a specific size.

I had forgotten I think how wrap skirts hang funny on me- probably because my waist measurement is so much smaller than my bottom measurement. (I don't know if it's normal or not, but there's a 10" difference between the two!) I have been assured it looks fine and I will definitely wear it more as a skirt than I did as a shirt.
