Day 2: Colorado Trip 2010

Mornings were usually spent warming up by the fire, chatting and reading. Most of us stayed in our jammies.

Later, some of us walked to the meadows, some fished their way up and others stayed behind to read. On the way up, my brother-in-law, Tom, saw a bear. There have been a lot of sightings in the canyon over the past 10-15 years.
The kids did a good job of walking when they could.
I wish we would have had a carrier for Tate because he really wanted to fish his way up!

Michael found a small patch of snow in the meadow and the kids had fun throwing snowballs at him!
Then we had some family pictures taken. Our niece, Lily, got creative with camera angles.
When we got back, Lily and Michael tried hard to get a chipmunk to eat out of their hands.
After dinner, we had a bonfire to toast marshmallows. It was the last evening for half the family.

My nephew's technique cracked me up. He saw some catching on fire and he didn't want his to turn black, so he had my brother put it close to the fire and turn it. It was only in about a minute and not even warm, but in his opinion, it was done!
Tate's was nice and brown and gooey!
Then it was bathtime, of course. After Drew got out, Tate and Julianna had a great time splashing!
