Day 4: Colorado trip 2010

We decided to take a trip to Cuchara and eat lunch at the Dog Bar before heading to fish at Blue and Bear Lakes. We ate on the deck and had to have the hostess turn on the space heater because it was so chilly!
Bear Lake
There was so much snow all over the state park! Even though it was June 1, I don't think the campgrounds were open. There weren't any vehicle permits at any pay stations and a lot of the sites were blocked off.
Michael and Tate tried fishing, but didn't have any luck. No one else caught anything while we were there either... wonder if that had anything to do with all the rocks Tate kept throwing in?
No fish, no problem- I'll just whack the snow with my fishing pole instead!
We even tried to walk the Indian Creek Trail, but there was too much snow blocking the trail. My family refers to it as the "Sound of Music" hike because when you come to the top, there is a gorgeous view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. We think of Julie Andrews every time!
My Uncle David walked with Tate and let him play in virtually every snow drift they saw! He had a stick to poke and hit at the snow.
Tate was so mad when we had to leave. He had great fun playing in all the snow!

He probably enjoyed all of the attention from the adults too.
