Decorative Differences

Michael and I are opposites in a lot of ways. When it comes to decorating the house, it's no different. His style is very sportsman; mine is more artsy and very eclectic. I prefer art on the wall, while he would consider his deer antlers art. As a compromise and so he can display his trophies, the basement has been dubbed the "man cave." He can do whatever he wants down there.
Before Mayer was born, he also had an office upstairs. That got moved to the man cave, so Tate could switch rooms and we wouldn't have to take down the crib. Michael's desk is an old dining room table, which I would just as soon get rid of. He likes it because he has room to work on his bow and arrows. But because he doesn't have a "real" desk with drawers and he's very obsessive about his bookkeeping, we have a giant file cabinet upstairs in our spare bedroom.
While our spare bedroom is definitely not finished, the file cabinet still looks out of place in there. Three walls have a black border separating two shades of pink. The other wall has a white border because we pulled a wall-length shelf off it because it was falling down. There are various pieces of furniture that we just stuck in there. We have new curtain rods, but haven't even hung any curtains! My mom and Mamaw picked out a bedding set in hopes of inspiring us to fix it up. Maybe if we got a L shaped desk, we could get rid of the file cabinet.
We have lived in our house for almost four years now, it really is time to start redecorating. The only things we have really changed are Tate's and the basement walls. We may have different ideas on how to fix up the various rooms. As for the spare bedroom, one thing we do agree on is the Pepto pink walls will be the first thing to go!
