Day 49: Movie Morning
We decided to watch a family movie Saturday morning.
That afternoon, Tate wanted to go to Heartland, our local sporting goods store and this is the outfit he picked. He is wearing a boonie hat over his baseball hat. This is also before he added a bunch of necklaces he has made.
He was in a goofy mood, but I've been meaning to interview him for a while now and it was the perfect excuse to try out the video on my new camera.
I'm not sure why he wouldn't say my name because nine times out of ten the little stinker calls me "Sarah" and not "mama" or "mommy!"
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Tate's space knowledge. Seriously, when he starts talking about it I forget that he is only 3!
I'm not sure if you can hear, but in the background Michael corrected me when I asked Tate about the lunar module. He said, "Lunar Lander." So, I googled it and the correct term is lunar module. I also googled "monkeys in space" and learned some interesting facts. Nothing that we have read to Tate has mentioned all the monkeys named Albert that were involved in early space travel. We have always said that Sam was the first monkey in space.
Speaking of space, fifty years ago today, February 20, 1962, John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth in the Friendship 7. I didn't know as a parent I would have to study so much to keep up with my child's interests! Luckily, as a history major, I appreciate that he has an interest in history and I find it just as interesting as he does. (Secret nerd confession: I LOVED reading biographies as a child.)

That's one smart cookie! ;-) Very impressive!
