Mayer's foot: short, fat and thick, in a mini bread loaf pan!
Tate's foot: same, just a bigger pan.
We have the hardest time finding shoes, especially tennis shoes. Tate was over a year old before we finally found a pair of tennis shoes for him. Their insteps are so thick crocs are even a tight fit! I think someone should make some shoes that resemble a kleenex box and they would fit my boys perfectly! Ironically, the same statement was made to my dad once while he was shoe shopping, "Why don't you just wear the box?"
The boys found some flip-flops on clearance the other day and just HAD to have a matching pair. The problem was that they wouldn't stay on Mayer's foot. I knew all it would take was some elastic to hold the shoe in place. I had seen some fancy, girly ones on Pinterest where the elastic was covered with pretty fabric. I decided to take a shortcut and skip the fabric. After all, he is a boy and I can only imagine how bad that fabric would start to smell! I have a lot of smaller pieces of elastic in my elastic scrap jar, so I pulled some out, used my KAM snaps pliers and my Babyville Boutique snaps and voila!
Mayer loves them! He even wanted to sleep in them last night. The only problem is the inner snaps rub on his fat little foot. The entire flip-flop fits really tight, but it doesn't seem to bother him in the least. He has a pink V on his foot when he takes it off. Not to miss out on something cool, now Tate wants me to make him some straps for his too.

good idea!
